Support & practical details

Everything you might want to know about fees, changes to appointments, keeping in touch, and where to turn for urgent support.

There is no need to choose one session length forever. We can talk together about what feels supportive and workable, and you are welcome to change between 60- and 90-minute appointments as your needs or circumstances change.

Payment: Online.  Private-health rebates: No private-health rebates.

Location

In-person sessions take place at Arena Counselling, Unit 7/16 Wilbow Street, Phillip, ACT 2606.

Most counselling sessions take place in person. Once we have built a foundation together, online appointments may be an option where appropriate, particularly when they make ongoing counselling more accessible or workable.

Cancellation and rescheduling

Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice before your appointment start time. Appointments changed or cancelled with more than 24 hours’ notice can be rescheduled without charge.

For cancellations or rescheduling with less than 24 hours’ notice, or for a missed appointment, the full session fee applies. Rescheduling is subject to appointment availability.

This policy helps make appointment times available to other clients who may be waiting for support. To cancel or reschedule, please contact me by email at hello@shannachoudhary.com.au.

Communication and email

I provide a non-emergency counselling service. Email is not monitored continuously and is not an appropriate place for urgent support, crisis information, or detailed therapeutic conversations.

You are welcome to send one brief, non-urgent email each week about your individual counselling work, if that feels useful. I do not provide therapeutic support or detailed responses by email; instead, we can make space to discuss the content together in your next session.

These boundaries help protect your privacy and allow the counselling relationship to remain clear, contained, and professionally supported. I aim to respond to appointment requests and enquiries within 7 business days.

Urgent support

This is not an emergency or crisis service. I provide a non-emergency counselling service and cannot offer urgent or crisis support by email, contact form, or between-session communication. If you need help now, please use the services below.
